One of the reasons I wish Renault had stuck it out with ownership of AMC is that this would have made for a perfect relaunch of the Metropolitan nameplate. I would own one at this very moment. The Clio Mk2 would have been a perfect Gremlin redux.

This alternate universe in my head involves AMC-made Scenic RX4's, Espaces, Avantimes, and Vel Satises, too.
